S&W Autos
What are the frame designations for the 59 series that had frame mounted decockers a la SIG?
Brain froze today.

I should add that Cole Distributing has some for sale, but they do not have the internal parts update (from what I have been told). The 5926's had some issues which were mostly fixed with the updated parts.

They were a hurried design, and really just a modification. I had a T&E gun from Smith (not a personal gun) that would only decock maybe 90% of the time you pressed the lever. Sometimes the lever would go down and stick. Two range sessions and she went back to S&W. They sent another T&E gun, same issues.

I am sure others had good experiences with the 5926, just not me.

I own all the models made except for the 6924 of which I understand only 4 were produced. I have never had a problem with any of them. I have carried a 1076 for years which has been shot monthly without a problem.

Only 4? No wonder I havent found one!
I love the aluminum framed 59 and 69 series! Just balances well for me and am amazed how smooth the DAO models are. (older models)

What are you nervous about? I have a 1076 and 5924 and have never experienced a malfunction.
I have to agree with you on the weight and feel of the alloy framed ones, and the trigger pull on the DAO.

Just hearing about the parts thing. I'll take the one you pictured if I can ever find one!

The 5924 (top) or the 5944 (bottom).
Well, I hate to do it but now that I have mine, I may let someone else have the next one that comes up. Maybe.

This is what I meant. Sorry for being obscure. Am I wrong and this is isolated?

Oh, that. No, there were some issues with the decocking lever in the T&E phase and early production. S&W came up with a fix for it that is shown by two dots under the decocking lever.
