Default Laser bore sighter question(s)

I'm about to pull the trigger on a TDR911 and figured the easiest way to sync up it's elevation/windage adjustment is to stick a laser boresighter in at the same time.

But I'm such a cheapskate when it comes to something I feel that I'm not going to use all the time am balking at the price, and would like your experienced advice.

1. First of all, should this method of zeroing in work?
2. Is it worth actually buying a boresighter rather than renting/borrowing one?
3. Has anyone heard of an average mom/pop hunting supplies store lending one for the about 5 minutes I'd need to use it?
if not:

4. Can anyone lend me one for a couple of days?

Wal-mart sells one for about $35.00 . I am even cheaper than you because i talked a friend into buying one for his new scope and then i borrowed it 4 times this year . It has a better arbor system than collumators I have owned costing many times more .

lol - that's the way to go.

I could go and pick up one anytime at wallyworld, but I stopped giving them my business because they drove a couple a couple of friends of mine out of business when they opened up a store here. (sorry, didn't want to get political)

Loyalty is a great character trait . Starting to sound like you and your character are going to be using the eyeball down the barrel routine . It is easier than all this typing about it . Good luck .

I doubt you'll need to do that much adjusting with the TDR911. First time at the range with mine on my .40VE it was dead on elevation and just needed a bit of windage work. You can do a fairly good job of checking it out right at home. Pin a target on the wall at the distance you wanted it zeroed at. Use your normal sights to insure the red dot points where you want it. A few rounds at the range should tell you if you've got it right.

I bought a Sightmark .45 laser bore sight to align my rail mounted Streamlight TLR-2. It worked like a champ. For thirty bucks it was money well spent in my opinion.

I bought mine from Cheaper than Dirt
