Thumbs up 4506 Range Time

Took my 4506 out to the range a few days ago. Ran 100 rounds through it, 3 diferent bullet weights (lead + fmj). Excellent groups even though I deliberetly mixed up the mag loading (bullet type). Easy on the hand and a blast to shoot. Also noticed the cost of factory 45acp is going dowm in my area of west michigan (Wal-Mart Federal 230 fmj).

It's amazing to me how soft the 4506 shoots. It just has this inherent "hand cannon" look and feel, then you pull the trigger and it's a nice gentle push. Of course tight groups delivered POA adds to the appeal as well. Glad you had a fun range trip, I am preparing for an all day shoot myself.

The 4506 is a fun gun to shoot. So much to it that the recoil is not a trouble at all. The first summer I had mine I shot about 200 to 250 rounds out of mine. There was a old dead tree at my folks place that I shot down over the summer. Man was that fun!!!

I just acquired a 4566 today. I had a 645 way back when...I just wasn't smart enough to hang onto her.

I can hardly wait to hit the range with this "new" 4566!

And no...this is NOT an LE trade in gun.

Gota 4506-1 today; perfect shape but hogue grips are worn. Will they come off without removing the mainspring housing?
1991 gun; fixed night sights. a neat 8852 on the right side of frame.

An ex-police gun?

Thanks.

Glock 'em Down:

Where did you get your 4566? I'm still trying to find one.

I got mine from a friend who picked it up from another friend.

CDNN has LE trade ins for $389.99 if you have a dealer who can order one for you. Shipping is $14.99 plus a $2.99 adult signature fee. They come with only one magazine, but they sell extras for $19.99 used or $29.99 new.

My local FFL is still pissed at me because CDNN sends me a catalog.

I probably paid a little too much for mine ($500) but it looks like a brand new pistol, came with 2 mags and I'm helping out a friend.

Besides...I figure anytime I can keep my name off of some paper when buying a gun, I'm better off.
