Is it just me or do most movies lack ANY Smith & Wesson autos in them. I know the Miami Vice TV show and recent movie had them. Saw a few in Pineapple Express and Super Bad. The first season of Breaking Bad on AMC had a 4506 in a show or two. Trying to think of more off the top off my head. What others have you all seen Smith Autos in??

I checked that out. The S&W autos used on Southland are 3913's and a 5906 or 4006. Not a 4566 as stated.

I do love southland...I thought it was interesting that the veterans officers and detectives on the show use S&W's but the probie uses a glock...anyways I cant tell which model he's holding here, but a good shot either way.

S&W 4506 is very prominent in Training Day. Alonzo carries a pair...

Seems like it's just you. :)

I see a number of S&W's on television and in movies, but not as much as I see a few other brands. Of course most of the time this is because of prop people. I have seen many shows where they brandish a Glock that is clearly one sold piece of black resin. You can throw it, drag it across the ground, etc. and no one cares. Prop outfits can produce dozens of these guns for very little money. With S&W you actually need a gun. But since I regularly see the same cheap Crossman BB gun (sort of 1911ish) on TV shows and in movies, I find it hard to believe that most of these prop guys and/or gun consultants know what they're doing. Either that or the show is so low budget they just ran out to Walmart for their props.

Also thought I would mention that there are lots of 3rd Gens in the Bad Boys movies.

The Alien Nation TV series from a few years back had the main character using a 6906, I think his partner did too.

Cooper is holding a 5906 or a 4006. It is a stepped frame gun so not a 4566. I too love Southland! Great show and they get a lot of the little things right. How ever Cooper should have a 4566. Far as I know that and the 4506 are the only S&W autos approved by LAPD.

Forgot about Training Day. Also Fight Club has a 4506 in it.

Nice 911 there with the Whale Tail! :) Oh, and someone should really teach Martin Lawrence how to hold that 4506. His hand is way too low on the grip.

Safety on with one gun and safety off on the other?

Why? lol

Just prior to that he 'rubs' the guns together, then tapped the barrels too...

Before holding them together in one hand, barrels first as a hammer, only to pound them into the perps privates...

And when he met Hoyt in the restuarant for breakfast, one of his pistols was unloaded, as he loaded in the 'office' (aka, car) after they walked out...

They did a good job with some of the gunplay in this moving, but the dual wielding gunbattle kind of hurt it IMO...

Yeah, I noticed that too.

I also couldn't help but notice, that no matter how good of an actor ol' Denzel is, he still holds his weapon like a damned gangsta.
