Default S&W 22A impressions ? ?

Is anyone shooting the 22A ? ? What is your opinion of it ? Is the finish durable ? How does it stack up against the Ruger MK II ? Any comments would be greatly appreciated.....

Mine shoots very well and handles most ammo flawlessly. The only problem I've had is loading a full magazine and the first round not ejecting. If I load less than the ten, it functions fine. It is as accurate as my 22/45, but does not feel a well made in my opinion, but it serves my uses for it well.

Owning both guns you mentioned the following applies.

Accuracy= 22A (will out shoot any stock Ruger)

Quality = MKII by a hair

Dollar value - 22A

My first pistol was a Ruger Standard 22 automatic in 1959, and I still have gun and will pass on to a grandson. They are heirloom quality, as is 22A I guess. Unless alloy guns are not in that category.

This is my idea of heirloom quality.
