Default New to site. just picked up a Model 6906

Bought (or stole depending upon how you see it) a model 6906 9mm this week for $100. Seriously. A friend had it and had only shot 30 rounds through it himself. Not sure about before he bought it but it looks brand new. No scratches or wear. Haven't had it apart yet but wasn't going to pass it up at that price. Going Saturday to apply for my lifetime CCW. Looking for 5900 15rd mags for it with +2 adapters (prefer stainless). Has anyone used 17rd mags in one? Do they make an adapter for that? Anyone have pictures? Any suggestions on what I should replace on it before doing any serious shooting? Springs etc. Thanks

Friend, after that deal I have serious reservations about you prospects in the hearafter. If it costs you too much sleep, let me know and I'll see what we can do about removing some of that guilt. Sheesh. How come I never stumble into these deals?

You can use the Mec-Gar 17 round magazines, but they will stick out of the grip just like any other 59xx series magazine.

There are no 'spacers' for the Mec-Gar 17 round magazines, and the ones made for the 15 round magazines will not fit.

I have tried this.

You might try sending a PM to REVCHARLIE

about the 59XX magazines with the factory 'spacers'. He had some for sale less than 2 weeks ago.

Enjoy your 'nearly stolen' 6906.

How come deals like this never come my way?

Thanks guys! Yes he is a very good friend! He also sold me a motorcycle for $2k even after we looked it up on Kelly Blue Book and it was valued at $4k. He married money and he would rather someone have his stuff that will get enjoyment out of it than to make a killing on it. Good friends are hard to come by.

I love mine already TG. I shot it at his house, at one of his kids' matchbook truck laying in the yard. Nailed it first shot. I'm going to my son's tomorrow to put a few rounds through it.

If your son has his own place and still has Matchbox cars, I'd worry

You should be ashamed; taking advantage of a friend like that!

Well we gave the 6906 a good cleaning and I put about 75 rounds through it without a hitch. I really like this gun! Very smooth. I shot his Walther PPK and wasn't impressed at all. I'll keep my 6906.

I promise not to shoot the valuable ones. I was as supprised as anyone that I hit it, figured I would miss by a mile, shooting a new gun for the first time. Beginners luck I guess.
