I have done some searching, but haven't quite found what I am looking for. I'd like to know how hard it is to convert a safe/de-cock 3rd gen pistol to de-cock only. I have read that S&W will do this, but what exactly is required? Is it a simple parts change like on a Beretta, or is it more involved? If I can completely detail strip a 3rd gen pistol, can I perform this conversion? Or must it be sent to the factory?

Some modifications need to be made to the slide and safety body for the decock only spring.

I thought about doing it to mine but decided I didn't want to risk messin it up, I'll let the experts do it.

Is it possible to do this to my 3913LS? I know some of the 3913 can be converted and some cant. Is there any easy way to tell other than calling S&W with the serial #.
