Mine is only about 1 year old. I've fired about 750 rounds through it. Lots of CCI and cheap stuff too. Never any problems. The plastic buffer squashed a little flatter after the first 100 rounds, but has not changed since then. I've been very pleased with mine, espceially for what I paid new ($199). My only complaint are the sights. I wish they had white outlines or something to make them more visible.

I bought mine new in March, and have shot about 1100 rounds. No problems, except with a surprising number (10%) of FTF using Win ammo. So I stick with Federal.
My experience with the buffer is the same as threepdr. S&W provided extra's in the box, but so far, I have not had to replace it.
I also agree with the comment on the sights-very hard to see. I immediately put an inexpensive Red Dot scope on mine, solved the problem.
Overall, very pleased with the 22A.

10+ years old +-2500 rds. It broke the extractor a year ago, S&W sent a prepaid mailer and it was back in 3 weeks, no charge. It shoots as well as ever.

Had mine for a couple of months now,apx 2K rounds of CCI through it.still using the original nylon buffer.I have installed a red dot sight.Fun to shoot and no problems so far.You might want to paint the front blade white. It helps when using the open sights.

A little orange paint on the front sight and a little white outlining the rear make the sights jump out at you.

I bought mine about 1 year ago new and I have shot around 700 to 800 rounds. I have had maybe 3 shells fail to eject. It has been a great gun and it is lots of fun to shoot.

I've had mine a few weeks and have put about 300 rounds thru it. Overall it's been great, just a few FTE's now and then, which I just attribute to cheap ammo. This is my 3rd 22A, the other two managed to get traded away. I may just keep this one
