BG 380 VS Kahr 380
Can someone please compare these two for me? How does the recoil compare, triggers and ergonomics. Thanks

I'll throw one more into the mix.
The Kahr CW9 is slightly larger than the sub-compact .380s, but is far easier to shoot and has less recoil sensation due to the superior grip. It caused me to retire my SIG 230, which is superior to either of the .380s you mentioned, IMHO.

You may want to wait until the Ruger LC9 comes out in a couple weeks, 9mm not much larger than the 380. OR, you may want to take a look at the Kahr PM9. I'm waitin' for the Ruger but probably going to add the PM9 as soon as Buds gets some in.

Or you may want to wait until the Sig P290 comes out!

Folks don't seem to want to answer your question, Sally, so I'll give it a shot.
My wife and I have one of each. She likes the Kahr P380 because the trigger is so light and smooth, and the gun fits her hand very well (ergonomically speaking). Initially, I also liked the Kahr P380 more than the S&W BG380, but the S&W BG380 has grown on me, seeming now to suit my hand better than her Kahr P380. At first, I also preferred the trigger on the Kahr P380, but, again, the S&W BG380 has grown on me, and now I prefer the trigger on it. The sights on the S&W BG380 are better than the standard Kahr P380 sights, in my opinion, although you can buy the Kahr P380 with night sights, which would improve the sight picture considerably. In terms of recoil, I would say that the S&W BG380 has the advantage, though the addition of Pearce grip extensions to her Kahr P380 has evened things out between the two pistols.
If I had to take a guess (and it's just a guess), I would say that the trigger will be the deciding factor for you and, in that regard, you can't go wrong with the Kahr P380. It's a fine pistol: light, small, easy to control, etc. If you have a background with revolvers, you won't have any problem with the trigger on the S&W BG380. But, if this is a first pistol, you likely will find the trigger on the S&W BG380 to be stiffer than you would prefer, which will mean more time at the range becoming accustomed to the trigger than would be necessary with the Kahr P380.

As was stated earlier, the trigger is lighter on the p380. I like the ergo's of the BG, and recoil for me is lighter in the BG. I dislike Kahr's for one reason. Kahr's have this little itty bitty spring that holds the whole thing together. For me it's a pain in the ***** to get off to strip the gun, it's a pain in the ***** to get back on. For me they should have done something different. On the other hand there are thousands of them out there and thousands more being sold to happy customers. For me I just don't feel comfortable with that little paperclip size piece of Engineering marvel holding my gun together.

Following up on my earlier post, I have to agree with this poster that I wonder about that little slide lock activation spring. Having stripped the Kahr P380 a few times, I don't have any problems taking it apart (it's become easier as the pistol has become "broken in"), but that little spring seems out of place to me. I would have more confidence if there was a little "meat" to it. But, then again, it hasn't been a problem. The pistol seems to run fine.
Overall, the S&W BG380 seems to be a little more solidly built, compared with the BG380. On the other hand, my BG380 had to go back to the factory twice, while the P380 has been problem-free. Maybe looks can be deceiving.

I've been trying to make a decision on a .380, as well. I was leaning toward the Kahr, because I'm reading about a lot of problems with the S&W. It appears they are having a number of problems that require them to be sent to the factory.
I'm still waiting to see what the new Kahr CM9 is all about. It was just introduced at SHOT last week. It is the same size as the PM9, but at a less expensive price; MSRP $550. Like the CW9s, it is a "plain" pistol that does not require as much production.
