Yes. When suppressed they were nicknamed "Hush Puppies" because they were used for taking out guard dogs - the gun was quiet and the dogs were "still"......

Also, a shortened 458 (458x2) used with subsonic loads for ambushes in heavy vegetation (silenced)=used for taking out the "point".
