Default SW1911SC "E" Series Round Butt, Scandium Frame

anyone hold one of these?

Not clear on the website....ambi or single side safety?

Does the melonite slide have sharp edges or have has it been dehorned? I read where the slide and frame were tumbled to minimize sharp corners.

My perfect plain clothes duty carry

commander length slide
only rear slide serrations (seems difficult these days)
LWT Officers frame
dehorned
all black
single side safety
front night sight
plain rear sight

this is very close to what I want without a Colt or Dan Wesson name which both are very expensive.

I never liked the idea of a fixed extractor due to my anal tendancies in the area of cleaning but I do like that is has the beefier PC extractor.

if anyone held or owns one.....opinions and range report please?

TIA

You too, huh?

I'm seriously thinking about ordering the 2-tone SC Commander (plain stainless slide), myself.

Since I don't remove the extractor unless it requires replacement, I don't have any issues with the typical pivoting/pinned design ... and I also like the idea of the larger PC extractor.

I'm hoping the area rep brings one or two by for us to handle and try out in the near future.

Like I NEED a 6th 1911 ...

Looks like Paul Smith ...

Sales & Administration - Smith & Wesson

I didn't get the 3" Pro Series model (was otherwise distracted with personal issues ), but the Commander E-Series guns look good. I've been wanting to replace the lightweight Commander I traded off many years ago. My CS45, 4513TSW & Colt OM serve me well enough for the 3+" guns.

I've got the SC bobtail on order, no idea when it will ship. I'm hoping for sometime in March.

The LE rep said the model I am inquiring should ship in March.

I want to see and hold one before I commit and of course would have to likely sell something.

I just bought a slightly used (MFG: 8/2014) SW1911Sc Two Tone Round butt that only had 14 rounds through it. Took it to the range and shot 20 FMJ Winchester white box and 70 JHP Remington using the 8 round mag, a 7 round colt mag, and an 8 round Wilson Combat mag. The gun shot great without any issues. It cycled the ammo perfectly and was fun to shoot. It has ambi safety. I've carried it for a week in my White Hat IWB holster designed after the Crossbreed and hardly notice it's there. So, at the point I'm very pleased with the gun and it is a beauty to behold.
