Yes. Handled one the other day and was very impressed. It was the stainless full size. I was extremely impressed with the fit and finish. The trigger had a nice clean break, the barrel was flush fit with the bushing, the slide to frame fit was perfect, and even the top of the slide was serrated. I can't think of any other 1911 in this price range (asking price was $850) that offers such a complete package.

Unhappy

Went to the gun show here today in Florida and didn't see any of the new "E" 1911's. I really like the new SC.

I have not seen any in local shops but did read article on these in one of the gun mags I recieve. They do look to be very well thought out but MSRP were listed in the $1369 range. In other words just a few hundred short of Les Baer offerings. If actual prices are closer to the $900 range they should capture a large share of the 1911 market.

I got mine (108482) last week. I liked the feel and the construction of the unit. I think they have a winner on this line.

On another forum, a gentleman from a NY gunshop just posted pics of 1 of the 2 "E" series his shop received.

OK thanks, saw that one. I'd like for them to come out with a 'Commander' size bobtail.

Isn't that what this is?

Product: Model SW1911SC<br>"E" Series - Round Butt, Scandium Frame

I'd like to see one up close, but it looks like a good set-up.

A fellow on another board examined two that his shop just received.

He reports that the "trigger wobble" had been eliminated and fit & finish is very good. Regards 18DAI.

I want to know if they are dehorned or have sharp edges.

I asked to T/E the black round but commander/officers size but did not hear back from the LE rep.

I kinda figure that was a no.

I want to see and hold one before I commit or seriously want.

Saw that thread, he's posted pictures now and the gun looks pretty good. Heard anything about anyone receiving the bobtail yet? When I spoke to my dealer yesterday (he's got a bobtail on backorder for me) he said he hadn't got an update on shipping yet from his distributor. Hoping it gets here within the next couple of week.

FWIW I just ran across a post on another site where the poster stated that he spoke to Jeff Webb @ S&W yesterday and Jeff told him the E Series would ship out on 3/1/11. Perhaps the two we've seen mentioned were flukes as far as early shipping?

Just got back from my LGS, and they had a new "E" series S&W 1911 in the case. SKU#108482 I believe, think they were asking $829. Got to handle it a little. A few of the things I noted, the slide was very tight, the trigger did have a slight amount of play in it-fairly comparable to the 108284 model I bought last fall. The safety seemed to have a more positive click in it than mine. The new grips had a very sharp checkering too them, perhaps too much for my liking--but would have to see how they felt while shooting--which also applies to the MSH which I felt had a very aggressive pattern.

Eric....can you tell me if the edges of the slide...sharp or softened (dehorned)?

this is the model I was particulary interested in?

what was the price?

I know Collectors is pricey!
