Default Is my BG380 broken? :-(

I've noticed the hammer rubs against the frame rails when it comes back on my BG380. It's a VERY slight rub. I don't think I feel it when I pull the trigger, but you can see the from the picture that the hammer comes back more to the right of center than anything else... I can see very slight rubbing marks on that side where the hammer rubs. Again, very slight, but figured I'd let S&W know if it's an issue?

Is this normal? This is four fifths trigger pull. I'd be curious if any BG380 owner could compare this for me (be sure your gun is unloaded first!). A cursory search of the Internets reveals it's not super abnormal for a hammer to come back slightly off center, and if it's fairly normal I won't worry about it.

Thanks, guys...

Unless it is rubbing excessively, or causing reliability issues, I would not worry about it. It is common with a lot of exposed hammer auto's and revolvers. In most cases its more an irritation because you know its there then it is a function issue. Still, being a new gun, there would be nothing wrong with contacting S&W about it, see what they say..

Thanks for the reply. Since the gun itself works just fine, I'm hesitant to mess with it. I suppose if it ever becomes a problem with FTFs, the lifetime warranty will take care of it.

William,
It looks like you may have ruined your gun. I see that you are holding it sideways, (ghetto style ready position). The government requires handgun makers to create a way for the hammers to cock to the side so, if necessary, the police can tell by observation whether your gun has been used to hold up a convenience and or liquor store.
The reset for that problem is to hold the gun over head and drop it to the concrete or asphalt near your feet and then urinate down your leg on it.

By the way, I checked mine and it does the same thing. (EAF model) I just had a big glass of water; I'm planning on resetting it after a couple more glasses. My wife saw this post and said I was being mean to you.
I have to wonder if the corner of the back of the frame, where the hammer appears to the side, isn’t trimmed for that reason.

Haha, thanks for the reply. You'll notice there was no gangster style going on there. You can see my feet on the right of the frame. This indicates the picture is on its side, not the gun.
