Model 52 scope mounting options?
Hi all,
I have a model 52 with a burris scope and a custom made scope mount which attached where the left grip mounts. The scope mount is okay, served me well, but it is time to get something better.
As I am getting back into shooting after a 25 year absence, I would like to upgrade this gun. I am probably going to get an Ultra dot scope and would like to know what options are available for mounting this scope?
Thanks
Chris

Try an UltraDot L/T with a BME mount. I have them on my M41, M52 and M952 bullseye guns. They are light and bright (even outdoors) and cause no slide cycling issues on the 52 and 952 like some tube dots cause. Plus on these guns you don't need to drill the slide- you use the stock rear sight dovetail.

RPGM1A.
I looked into those scopes and mounts. I notice that they don't like mounts for all the guns (like the model 41). Did you use the same mount on the 41 as the 52?
Also, I am thinking of going with the PAN A-V sight from Ultradot, do you think that scope would work with those mounts?
I emailed BME yesterday but have not heard from them yet.
If you care to share any more specifics or details about your guns, I am all ears!

My M41 with a 5.5" barrel used the same sight as on my M52 so I just used the M52 mount on both.
Its best to call John Chernick (the owner of BME) and talk to him directly.
I don't think he BME mounts for the L/T will work with the PAN AV - I think its a bigger sight. I would ask BME about it though. IMHO I think all the bells and whistles on the AV are not necessary.

There were two reasons why I am leaning towards the PanAV.
1) My eyes don't adjust to light conditions very well so I figured I would have better control with a manualy adjusted brightness control.
2) It is cheaper, heck I am even looking at the truglo because it is so much cheaper. I already bought one that I plan to mount on my air pistol, have not had the time to do it though.
I will call BME and talk with the fellow there to make sure the PanAV will work with it.
Thanks much!

Burris SpeedDot 135 red dot sight
Any one had any experience with the Burris speeddot 135 red dot sight on the Model 52?
