Default my day at the range w/ 5906 and 5903TSW

Picked up a 5906 a couple of weeks ago, got her out to the range today. I took along my 5903TSW so that I could compare the two.

Started off shooting some .22 out of my Ruger MKII (looking in to bullseye shooting) to warm up. Really enjoy that pistol.

Moved to the 5903TSW. Started off a bit shaky but brought it back in. Then moved to the 5906. It lives up to its tank billing. Compared to the 5903TSW it felt like a brick! It had a rubber slip on grip w/ finger grooves over the factory grip. I liked the way that felt in the store, but I was low and left after my first two mags through the 5906. Thought it might be the grip so I took it off to make it a real apples to apples comparison (5903TSW is factory grip). Seemed to straighten things out a bit but couldn't tell for sure -- too many holes in the target (I'm cheap).

Both of them ran without a hiccup of anykind whatsoever. I was shooting 124gr PMC FMJ. Wasn't one of my better days at the range accuracy wise --- likely user error! Wasn't as accurate w/ the 5903TSW today as I was the first time I had it out. Oh well. Had fun as always.

Actually, I shot the Ruger really well. Definitely a better trigger, and the lighter round probably helped as well. Need to spend more quality time w/ the 5906 and 5903TSW (and some shooting lessons couldn't hurt! )

Based on one range visit with the 5906 and two visits with the 5903TSW, I think I like the 5903TSW better. Weight is more manageable and the trigger is a bit better. More range time is needed to settle this though.
