Default What about the SW1911SC.

Greetings fellow Smithophilies. (Smithautophiles)?

I have found a keeper 1911Sc.At the Miami show
a customer of my friend the ammo dealer walks up and offers this pistol
for sale. It is 2004 production and clean as a whistle.Just the way we like them.
Box and both Novaks magazines, Novak's adjustable night sights,
and great thin grips.
Really a happy camper. Have not seen many of these around and when I
did they were pricey. 28.3oz. empty, light, thin, and smooth.

Do you have one too? How do you like it.(as if I have to ask)

Good luck to you.
Allen Frame

Nice gun. I never cared much for the "too big" laser engraving on the slide, but otherwise this gun (or maybe in a 4" barrel) would be about the perfect carry 1911. Love those grip panels.

I do believe that IS a 4 1/4" barrel.

Nice looking 1911. I just never could get used to the external extractor on those S&W's.

I had that exact model up until a year or so ago. Was a great gun, just didn't serve a purpose in my lineup (that wasn't already filled). I did find that you had to have a firm grip on it, as it had a tendency to twist a bit and flip the casings into my forehead. Never had a problem with that before or since with any other gun, but I heard that same problem from a number of owners of this model. Might have been the extractor might have needed a bit of tweaking, I don't know. But otherwise, a great gun, never a problem w/ it.

I have one just like it unfired NIB that I picked up from a dealer at a gun show in Michigan back in 2007. by your serial number mine is about 800 numbers older than yours. I got it back then for $600 which I thought was a very good buy and still haven't fired it. I asked the dealer why it was so cheap and he said he'd had it a while and wanted to move it so he marked it down. At that time I think dealer cost was around $800 and factory list was over a grand.

Fabulous gun in ALL aspects.Unfortunately some jerk stole mine about 2 years ago and I sure miss it. Serial number is quite close to yours....(JRE4852) Perhaps some day I will get lucky and have it return...not holding my breath on this however!

Thumbs up

I been carrying a S&W Commander 1911 PD-SC for about 5yrs or more now and it has never let me down. Some of the ammo I have run through it has but the pistol hasn't. The external extractor works and is nothing to worry about. I highly recommend them as they are a very good pistol.

Great gun, I have one, shoots fabulous. Just shot it tuesday night along with my 945-1. Mines a JRF28XX... came with a set of pearl grips... really sharp along with the original rosewood looking grips.

I had one like Baldy's. They are light and need a firm grip, but they are also light. Can't remember why I sold it, these are very nice and accurate pistols. I don't care which side the extractor is on.
