Default model 4506

Local gun shop has a 4506 in what appears to be excellent condition with 3 mags for $600.00. Does that sound somewhat high? They won't come down.

Is it a 4506 with the square trigger guard? Original box too? If so, sounds about right.

Locally a used example of the 4506 with two mags brings $550. On the auction boards alittle more.

$600 is not a bad price for a 4506 with 3 mags, IMO. Good luck! Hope this helps! Regards 18DAI

I bought a 4566 in 90-95% condition with 2 mags, no box or papers, about 2 weeks ago for $520 OTD. I'm glad I bought it since I don't see many 3rd gens around here. I hope this helps you with your decision.

If it is a step frame (early model 4506) might be a bit high..

Good call; life is too short to wait for a cheaper unexpected opportunity.

I bought a 4006 on a whim a few years ago and love it. I had had my eyes open for a 4506 ever since but just don't see them.

That price in decent shape with three nice factory mags is not out of line.
Offer to give it a good home for $550

I sold an as new 4506-1 R3, papers, box, yada yada, for $800 on GB about 6 months ago, and just recently sold a NIB 4516-1, on Auction Arms also for $800.

You did fine.

My personal preference is for the Model 4506-1... and yes, I would somehow manage to come up with $600 for a Model 4506-1 in decent (not used & abused) shape with original box and 3 magazines. That's outside my normal "no wife approval needed" range, but they are so rare around here (MA) that folks like me can't afford to take a pass or even hesitate.

I stupidly passed on a 4506 (No Dash, without box) last year so that I could wait for a 4506-1 to appear (it never did) and I am still crying almost daily about it.

More recently, I lost a 4506 (No Dash) to a buyer that was less than 45 minutes ahead of me getting to the seller. Close, but no cigar. It ruined my day but good.
