Coulda, shoulda, woulda - or just interesting
What other 3rd Gen Smiths might we have seen if they had had the sense to keep the line going and growing?
CS69? A 6906 chopped down to CS9 dimensions.
3946? Single stack DAO. For those of us with freakish hands.
What else can you think of?

A 4503. Aluminum framed full size 45 with a 5 inch tube. They actually made 3 or 4. IIRC they are in private hands today.
There were a lot of agencies who liked the 4506-1. And continued to order it through 2006 or so. The 4503s were made to test the feasibility of a full sized aluminum framed 4506-1 for LE use. Regards 18DAI

They were dropped because they weren't making $$$$$$ for S&W. That's the bottom line.

3953/54. Including the TSW versions of the 3953TSW.
A frame mounted decocker single stack 9mm would have been nice.

From the Performance Center...
*PC Shorty10
*1066 & 1063 CQB
*PC1006 in 5 and 6 inch variants
*A single stack Shorty 9 as in a PC version of the 3913/14
*Although I have the one... PC4506 in 5 and 6 inch variants with a three recoil spring set, one for midrange target wadcutters, one for standard loads and one for 45 super
And I second 18DAI's 4503 plan
Mounting adaptation for an RMR on duty/fullsize arms. Seems a good portion of the market is moving toward micro red dots on handguns these days
Cheers
Bill

Leave the tiny bit of scandium out of the aluminum alloy frame and you've got yourself a 3914NL.

3903, which would have been a stainless 39xx upper on a silver anodized 3904 receiver.
