Darn you 3rd gens!!!!
I went to the LGS where I bought my 4003 hoping they'd have a 3913/4013/CS-series (unfortunately they didn't) , basically a compact model for next year when it gets warmer for carry. And what do I see besides the usual 4003's and 4006's? Some 4586's, now I want one of those too, but doesn't offer than much better concealabilty over my 4003. But I still want one.
Why must I like you so, 3rd Gen Smiths?
I need to win the lottery. LOL

I hear you brother...I got the itch too. Have a 645 and a 6906...want to get a 5906 and a 4516...but piggy bank frowns at me.
I want to find a very nice 5906 with the adjustable sights. I for some reason love the protected sites on that model and the square trigger guard.

I visited the Pensacola FL gunshow Sunday and there wasn't a 3rd gen S&W nowhere in the place. Saw one 1st generation and that was it for any all metal Smith and Wessons.

I visited a few gunshops on Saturday and 3G Smith's are getting scarcer around here. I'm addicted to them too. I bought a couple of 1076's and a 4006 in the last couple of months and still want more. Help!

I'm with you on the metal 3rd gen S&W's. I had a 4043, 4586, and 4563 stolen in February. I wasn't crazy about the DA trigger on the 4043, but I'd love to get the other two back. Meanwhile I still have a 457S and a CS45 that I found NIB six months ago. Both are 06 builds and make good OWB carry guns. Generally I carry a M&P c 40 which is a bit lighter or a CW40 which is a lot lighter, but the two 3rd gens find their way into my holsters often.

Nice looking gun you've got there, pace40! How many 4567's were made?

That 4567 is beautiful. I just put a 3913 on layaway and am already looking into other 3rd gens.

It's only an addiction if you allow yourself to be jolted out of your blissful state of denial.
5906, 6906, 6904, 4566, ?,?,?,?,?,?..................................................

I, for one, am NOT addicted to the third generation Smith and Wessons. I could stop buying them anytime I want to. I just don't want to stop yet.

I didn't know anything about third gen guns until I walked into my LGS and there was a used 3913 looking back at me out of the case. Asked about it, looked it over, took it apart, put it back together, traded my new Ruger LCR for it. My 3913 and I have been constant companions ever since. Why on earth did S&W stop making these? Oh I know, the plastic thing. I'm sure glad I got mine. Best ever made. MHO only. I carry it in a CrossBreed Super tuck that I did my own combat cut on. Never know I have it on.

Well I'm cured of my 3rd gen addiction. After buying 6 in four months, I've decided it's time to concentrate on buying ammo for all of them now.

And because I am a glutton for punishment, I went to the local Gander today. They had a new 457, although it was more than I'd want to pay at$649, boy did it feel good in my hand. The trigger was very smooth too.
They had some beat 5906 for almost $500 yikes.
I can definitely see a compact .45 in my future, probably lean towards a 4513 or 4516 though, for the stainless Hopefully I'll find one locally at a good price when I have some extra $$.

Lord help me I'm addicted....I bought a 5946 and just bought a 6904 today on gunbroker....
The 5946 was purchased in September of 1995 by the Mount Morris Police Department in Michigan.
I'm waiting for the 6904 to get here.
I paid 299.95 for the 5964 and 239.00 for the 6904..
The 5946 point of aim is spot on and very accurate..I'm in love.
ps: don't tell my wife she's been replaced..:0p

Buck up there Bubba, you're stuck with it now. The damn things are like Lays potato chips, you can't have just one.

Yep! Addicted here too. I decided to ditch my KT PF9 and thought "Those S&Ws are pretty inexpensive". They are....if you don't want ALL of them!
I know I'm hooked because, logically, a Glock 27 w/a 9mm conversion is hands-down the best "shtf pistol"...but all I can do is plot my next S&W!
Might I also remind everyone to please keep their enthusiasm contained to this forum. In fact, I encourage self-deprecation in public. "Man...I really wanted a better gun but all I could get was this S&W!". Let's conspire to keep them prices low until we all have our fill! LOL

Too funny! I wish we could turn the tide in our favor by utilizing such subterfuge. Unfortunately, I think that the genie is out of the bottle and too many enthusiasts are sopping these things up like country gravy with a jumbo biscuit.

I am a new 3rd Gen addict. Is this where I sign up for the 12 step program? Or is it a 12 gun program? I think I like the second option better.

Hello, My name is Mike and I am an addict. I guess you could say that dumb luck got me. I walked into my local store, and was just browsing. TOO MUCH here TOO MUCH there. Then I saw a little S&W, with a little wear. I ask to see it, and it said Chiefs Special on the side. Smart phone--GOOGLE. Fairly popular among people who have one. And seem to be $450 and up. Price tag on one in my hand $300. SOLD! Thinking I can make some money and get another toy. Well then I carried it a few days. WOW. It never leaves my side. Had an offer of $450, and I said no. Would be very hard to get rid of now.

Guilty! Thankfully there aren't too many locally to tempt me! Although, last weekend I drove 2hrs to buy a 4513TSW (prerail, short grip).
The LGS has a 6906, but it's square. I like the round, although I might buckle eventually and grab it!

Gents,
I guess I'm addicted to them too. My pesky SoCal gunsmith sold me on the darned things! 3 months later, I have seven (7) to my name!
I have:
2X4566 (1 Rail Gun and 1 normal)
2X4003TSW (1 Rail Gun and 1 normal)
1X645 (being modernized by Karl Sokol)
1X3914 (bought for 'Mama Bear', but it's really for me)
1X5906 (1989-vintage w/ square trigger guard and Adjustable Sights...love the different look!)
They are so darned strong!!! They shoot exceedingly well too. I am done with them. I too need to concentrate on ammo (9mm/.40/.45).
Doesn't help matters that I impulsively bought a ANIB Model 27-2 4-inch. Never been shot outside of the factory. DRATS!

I catch myself weighing the price of things I have to buy or pay for vs. another 3rd gen. If I gave in as often as I wanted to, I would be living in my truck and hiding from the repo man with a whole cache of 3rd gens and no ammo for them.
