Default boy I miss my 3rd gen Smiths!

life got in the way this year, and becoming 'income challenged' led me to have to sell off my gun collection. I had S&W's, Sigs, Colts, Glocks...you name it, in 9mm, .40 and .45. Oh well, gotta do what you gotta do, right?

What I miss most of all though are my 3rd gen Smiths. I had 2 4506 no dash's, a CS45, a 6906, and a pristine 645. Also had a dozen original stainless follower 645/4506 mags. Geez- those are like Unicorn fleece!

None of the others felt, shot, carried like the Smiths to me- not even the uppity Sigs.

I'm carrying a Glock 36 .45 right now, as a default, but one of these days, the sun will shine brighter, the birds will sing louder, and I'll have another Smith.

A lot of us have had to do similar things as well. It's easy to think to yourself, "I would never part with my guns." But like you put it, life can definately get in the way.
Here's hoping to better days ahead and the reacquisition of some old friends once you make some financial progress.

I'm a Realtor and income challenged doesn't quite cover it. Three times I've taken photos and gotten ready to post seven of my minty fresh 3Gs. But, I just can't bring myself to click the button. There are a couple I'll never be able to replace. I know exactly what you have had to do.

I sympathize. I've been there too. Good news is four years later, for me, I've got most of them back. You will too!

I predict you will not only regain your favorite models, but add some interesting 3rd gens too. Good luck! Regards 18DAI

Sorry to hear about your bad fortune. I hope that i never have to do what you have had to do. But as you say we all have to do what we have to do. Family and a roof over there head is what comes first. I hope when things get better for you that you get back all you had to give up and more.

Sorry for your loss. I feel for you, especially since I had to do the same thing over the last year or so. I got rid of some guns that I swore I'd never sell, but when you need money, you need money. Hopefully next year I can start buying again, and I hope the same is true for you.

Many years ago my grandad said, "If a man owns a gun his family should never go hungry."

At the time I assumed he was talking about hunting.

But over the years I've become aware of other ways, like pawn/sell the gun or use it to knock over a liquor store (not recommended).

I too, have had to sell a few and I was blessed they were there when needed.

Grandad is not the only one in the family with a quote.
Here is mine: I invest my money in precious metals.

Trade the Glock for a 3rd gen! Or you could sell the Glock buy a S&W and keep the extra $$.

Peace
