Default Holy Price Check Batman

Am I missing something here or is there something really special about this Mdl 39 that makes it worth $3000

Well its a steel frame Model 39 new in the box, so it is special. There were very few Model 39s produced with a steel frame compared to the number produced with the aluminum frame. However, that price is way to high in my opinion.

Default Steel Frame Model 39 Price

The founder/owner (handejector) of this Smith&Wesson forum recently sold a NIB steel frame Model 39 with two military magazines, smooth Goncalo grips, with the "rare" dust cover for a little over $2000, so the one you have asked about is quite a bit higher than what they are going for, but it is important to remember that things are only worth something to someone who wants it.

There ae three SN groups for the steel frames. Perhaps this is from one of the rare groups. Also it NIB. And perhaps what's in the leter may have something to do with the price.

The price may also be a reflection of the seller. I have run across several collectable Smith & Wesson firearms on Gun Broker listed by this same dealer, and the prices always seem to be at the high end of the market. As Model39 stated, the gun is worth what some is willing to payfor it.

What I can tell in the letter is that they are talking about a rare 39 in 30 cal for the overseas market but there is no indication that this is one of those.

No that is part of the letter explaining the different variations of the Model 39's produced by Smith and Wesson the last paragraph is dealing with the 39 in question. At least that is how I read the letter.

People ask all sorts of crazy prices for guns on gun broker. They also are the auctions that keep showing up for years when you try researching them. I have seen that same Mod 39 at various prices listed for a long time now.
