Default And I thought the regular Gander Mountain had crazy prices

They turned one of the Gander Mountains here into "Gander Mountain Gun World". While they do have a huge selection of guns. The prices are CRAZY!

Used (bolt on rail)4006TSW $829, Used CS9 $529, New 642 with ILS was MSRP, New 642 w/o lock almost $50 OVER MSRP.

The 27th Street Gander had a 4006TSW NIB last year for the same price.

For used long guns a M48 Yugo Mauser in average shape, over $500.

They make Cabelas look like they have Walmart prices. This was apparently supposed to be a trial store. I see it as a big fail.

No wonder we have such high prices for guns around here, when the big box stores that usually are blamed for driving down prices to run the little guy out of business, have sky high prices. So there is no reason for anyone to have low prices.

Of course. I especially like reading in for sale ads, "Saw one just like it selling at Gander Mountain for $***, only asking $XXX - $100"

I'm one of those azzholes that only goes there to see/feel up guns I'm interested and then buy elsewhere. I always start with Bud's Guns but also check the little guys locally. Gander is just stupid expensive, always.

Good deals can be found at Gander Mountain now and then. You just have to be in the store at the right time to snatch them up. I bought this nice nickel 10-6 at my local GM a year or two ago for $229.

Sitting next to it was a 681 for $299. I posted these guns here, I bought the 10-6 and another forum member got the 681.

Gander's usual prices are ridiculous, but even so don't ignore them entirely. Occasionally any store will screw up and let a bargain slip through.

Would you believe I bought this beauty at GM for $245??? (back in 2006)

The same store now has three with fixed sights all in rough condition for $829.

Exactly. I bought a Korth at GM a few years ago for $950 and sold it at a local auction for $2500 less than a week later. Did Gander Mountain have a recent change in ownership?

I have a 39-2 I got at Gander for $249 a couple years ago...I went in looking for something else, and the 39 was in the used case...it's in great condition and I'm very happy with it. Like Dragon88 said, sometimes you can get a good deal there...
