Won the Bid on GB/3913
Thanks for having me in the Forum, just won a bid on a 3913, one of the best looking ones I've seen . Finally get to take it out tomorrow and put it through the paces. Can't wait. What are the odds of the serial no. and the Model no. being reverse image?

Welcome to the forum! I like that about the serial number and the model number. Maybe that's happened before, but I've never seen it. Adds another layer of interest to the pistol.

Years ago I needed a deep cover pistol. The 3913 fit the bill then and still does. Good leather will only increase your pleasure.

Neat about the serial number. One of my 3rd Gen S&W has a serial number with 666 in it - wasn't sure I liked that but then I decided it was meant for anyone on the other end of the firearm.

What a first post! Congratulations and welcome to the forum.
Love the gun! Love the serial number/Md no. I'm waiting for one to show up in my LGSs or pawn shops (I don't buy online). I passed on a nice one about 6 months ago. Won't let that happen again.

Glad ya got it. Think looking for a good quality used piece is often a great idea since very often they have not been fired much at all. Have heard many at my club mention I bought this handgun, rifle, or shotgun and didn't like it or did not fit me. yours looks to be in excellent shape. Plus it's metal!!! Thanks for sharing.

Oh, dang. I thought my 3913 was special, but then I looked at my s.n. and realized how boring it was. I'll trade you straight across, and then you won't have to worry about any bad mojo from the s.n.

Funny thing is everyone raves about the 3913 so a few years ago I got a chance to buy one on-line! Nice looking, great handling little pistol.
BUT, I and my grown son took it out to the range and just plain didn't like it. Didn't feel right in the hand, couldn't hit anything, etc. Couldn't figure out why (maybe because I like my 39-2 so much and can really shoot it well) so took it to the next gun show and traded it - and a little cash - for a 19-2....YEAH..

My first one in 89/90 needed Hogue grips to feel right....factory grips were too thin/slick......just didn't feel right in my hand...... once I made the switch..... it was my favorite gun.... along with the others 39xx series guns I've gotten since.
Similar the 469 2nd gen was a 2X4 in my hand the 6906 feels great.... small changes can make a BIG difference!!!!!!
