A very neat way of reducing the weight. Who did the work?

Eric at EKW Arms did the work. There are pictures in several threads on Rimefire Central of 41's that we copied. Eric is a friend even though we have never met face to face. I provided the barrel and Eric did the work as sort of an experiment or product development for his new 41 barrels. Eric is the kind of guy when you say I don’t think this can be done he starts to figure out how to do it. Before this project he made stainless ejector rod housings for the Ruger bearcat and S&W 422 firing pins. I have no doubt that his new 41 barrels will be works of art.

Do you have contact information for EKW Arms?

It appears the the original scope mounting will still be available after Eric does his work...is that actually correct?

Also, how closely does his blueing match the original?

For some additional pictures and comments look at this thread:

New Twist on an old Model 41

Eric does great work! I'm also waiting for him to roll out his version of the 41 barrel!

Ditto... I got the email yesterday from him saying that mine is on it's way back.

Eric is a really great, easy going, person to deal with. After this barrel arrives, I'll probably pull the one off my other M41 and send it back too.

Stubbfarmer... thanks for posting the top view pic of your slide, my other barrel that I want to send in is drilled and tapped and I was wondering whether or not the vent rib machining would end up making the use of optics not possible.

Update: My slide arrived today... Gentlemen, it is unequivocally, the most impressive bit of work that I've seen in a long time.

His attention to detail, quality and preciseness of the work... outstanding, especially for what Eric charges.

My other M41 barrel is being packed to go visit him.

Based upon stuff here, and on rimfirecentral, and on emails direct to Eric,
I just sent my barrel to him...

I'm hoping he will eventually do an exposed-hammer conversion to the M41 frame like Loveless did decades ago...CNC machines have unlimited potential...

thanks for feedback...
