1911 E Series 4.25" stainless???
Why won't they make them??? They make them with the scandium alloy frame and the round butt on them is actually pretty nice feeling in the hand. But I can't stand scandium. Is there a reason they won't make them in all stainless???
Product: Model SW1911SC<br>E-Series™ - Round Butt, Scandium Frame

I think S&W may be having problems just trying to keep up with current production models. I've had a Pro Series pistol on backorder since September and no clue as to when or if it may be produced.
They probably don't have the production capability to make every combination.
I guess that's why there are so many custom pistolsmiths around...

I see your point, but I'm not asking for a big change that would make a whole new model. Or at least I don't think I am. It's not as if they couldn't just mill down the stainless full size frame to the correct size and drop the existing slide on it. It strikes me as a simple thing to add to the inventory line.

must drop the magazine after racking the slide on new SW1911SC
Hello. I have a new SW1911SC and have only put 50 rounds through it so far...I like the pistol and the way it feels in my hand and really like the way it shoots but have a question. I must drop the magazine after racking the slide before I can release the slide stop lever to allow the slide to move forward. Is this normal for this firearm or is there something wrong with mine?

As with most autos the slide locks back when empty when the magazine follower actuates the slide lock. Depressing the slide release on an empty gun simply pushes the mag follower down a little and you should get no resistance from this. Look inside as you perform this function and see if you can find the problem. It should release.
I also have the two tone SC and would LOVE an all stainless 4.25" 1911.

SW1911SC Magazine issue
Thanks for the suggestion...the CCW type magazine (holds 7 rounds) works fine but the 8 round magazine doesn't. I'll call SW and see about returning that magazine.
I love this new pistol...shot another 50- rounds through it this morning and it is now one of my favorite pistols.
Am looking into holsters for this SW1911SC...can you suggest a good CCW holster that won't rub the finish off of the pistol frame in normal concealed carry use?

I know what forum we are on but it is absolutely hard to beat this from any maker. Its on par with LB, EB, and even some Wilsons. Can't say enough good things about them and based on your comments, would fill your bill to the T.
CZ-USA -> DAN WESSON V-Bob
they come in ss and duty coat and don't let the msrp fool ya...they can be had for around $1500-1700 if you look around. One of the best bang for your buck 1911s around.

From an interview given at the 2012 Shot Show, the guy in charge of S&W's 1911s says that they will be coming out with serveral new models. When and what is still to be answered.

I drooled over the M&P 22 for over a year before I had one in hand... what I’ve come to learn is spend money on what is hard to buy today, as its almost impossible to find it tomorrow I use predefined search alerts on GunBroker for just that reason… and snagged a DK1911
With that said, MAN I would really like an SC-e in 9mm!
