Default Model 4563TSW Opinions

I'm contemplating purchasing my first S&W semi auto and have my eye on a Model 4563 TSW at my favorite LGS. Gun only and two magazines at $649.00. I can probably get the price to $600.00 without too much trouble. What are some of your opinions on this gun? Thanks in advance.

Never owned that one but if it shoots anything like the 4566 you're going to like it a lot. I do love my 1911s but the 4566 is the smoothest shooter I have. The 4500 series is a proven winner in my book.

I have a 4563 TSW along with a bucket of other 45xx pistols. It is a great pistol, light in weight because of the alloy frame, good trigger and accurate. It does require a little more care because of the alloy frame which in my opinion needs grease on the contact areas rather than oil. Neglected frames will have excessive wear. Ask to take the slide off and inspect the frame rails and that area that pulls the barrel down.
