Default S&W 3914

I am considering purchasing a S&W 3914 for CCW. Could anyone tell me the dimensions and weight of the gun? How accurate is yours?

Do a search for 3913. It's the same gun with a stainless slide. They are the best single stack 9mm carry pistol made by anyone at any price.

I owned a 3914 nearly twenty years ago, like an idiot I sold it to buy other guns. I now own a 3913 which, as previously mentioned, is the same gun, only with a SS slide and matching silver color alloy frame. I haven't seen a 3914 for sale in years, they are pretty rare.

In the years since I've also owned a Sig P6 (225), a P239 (in 9mm), a Kahr CW9 and a smaller PM9....all well-regarded, single-stack 9mm compact pistols. In retrospect I should have kept the 3914, it's likely the best of the bunch. That's why I recently snapped up a used 3913 I found sitting in a LGS.

These days you can probably get a smaller, lighter, more easily-concealable 9mm CCW, but you won't find a more reliable, better made, nicer shooting and elegant small single-stack than the 3914/13. Truly a great gun.

1000 reason why the S&W 3914 is the best auto

Markfi,
Grab it up if you can.
I believe it's been said:
One of the best Single Stack 9mm's ever made!

My 3913NL sports a Performance Center barrel chambered in .356 TSW

I have a LEO trade 3913 and like everyone else agree it is the best single stack compact 9MM out there! Had a Kahr and it was very finicky to feed. The 3913/3914 Smiths with reliably eat any good ammunition and with outstanding accuracy to boot. One of the few DA/SA autos which prints the first DA shot in the same group as the SA shots that follow. I could never do that with my Kahr or the stupid Glock 22 I once owned.

My wife uses the 3913 as her CCW choice a good bit of the time.

Default The Best

Buy it quick. As stated, the best carry 9mm pistol ever. Wish I would have bought two back in the 1990's when I bought mine new. I have a dozen other options for my carry/ccw gun, and I continue to carry my 3914 because it is reliable beyond belief, shoots to the sights with most factory ammo, is light, compact, smooth..........enough. You get the point.

Great guns. The only reason I don't carry it all the time is that I have a CS9 and a M&P9c. In fact all of the 3rd generation semi autos are great.

Going on 20yrs being carried in some form or fashion. I've tried all the other small 9MM pistols, some I still have, but when I'm vertical its a 3913 an a J-frame 640ND thats along for the ride. I can think of no better pistol than the 3913/14/908 series of guns(908 is S&W's 3rd gen economy model).

Default How about an engraved 3914 for a lot more money?

("Amazingflapjack" PM'ed this info.) Check out this hand-engraved 3914 for sale on Gunbroker:

S&W model 3914, 9mm Luger with Hand Engraved Slide : Semi Auto Pistols at GunBroker.com

It's amazing that someone applied this level of craftsmanship to a lowly 3rd generation Smith.
