Great idea to send it to the smartphone, as I don't have a color printer.
Thanks 85V65

If I'd print it on paper then I'd have to remember what I did with it. Now I just have to find that damn phone.

That's a handy, and colorful chart.
If you want the "full skinny" on 3rd Gens here's skjos lists, both the Production & Performance Center models, which I compiled & saved to pdf for convenience. Save it on you smartphone & ditch the paper.

With the staggering amount of info in my head at this point,
and "ye olde head injury" that got me retired outta the Army,
I'm just lucky when I can remember something specific
Thank God for Smartphones, help us remember the stuff we want to

I've been using that very chart and accompanying article lately, trying to decide which way to proceed with my new found love for 3rd Generation Smiths.
The chart and key at the bottom was a good visual for my brain to TRY and wrap my head around the numbering system. But, it also had me stymied about the 6906. Why didn't they call it a 6903???

Who is Lucky Gunner? The chart is awesome and I bow to their skills. Any thought to expand it? Maybe 52 as SAV for 39, 845 as SAV for 4506?
What is skjos? This list rocks! It humbles my attempts to collect in a comprehensive way. It indicates vastly more nuance in the S&W catalog than I thought was out there.

Should be, " Who is skjos?". Steve's the one who compiled the lists.

Well, skjos is like a god to me. This is impressive work. I don't see the 745, but that doesn't minimize how vast an undertaking this represents.

Don't you guys have a Whiz Wheel?
And that 6906 will mess you up every time.

It is an awesome list. The 745 was considered a 2nd Gen.

Try this: Guide to Smith & Wesson Semi-Auto Pistols & Their Model Numbers
I also included that info in my interactive parts catalog: http://dehp.net/smith/
Since I've gotten the standard catalog, I need to go back and add the specs for the other generations and different pistols that weren't on the Lucky Gunner poster.
