Default 39 series mag question.

I am a S&W fan and the proud owner of several pistols and revolvers. I have a 3914 that I love and use as a EDC gun. I have a old magazine for it that a friend gave me. It is all metal with a metal follower and functions perfectly in my gun. It says S&W on the butt plate. The thing is that it sticks out about half and inch below the grip. I was wondering if this fit an earlier model than mine. It holds 8 rounds. It has some marks on the bottom left side. I am willing to sell it to someone that needs or wants it. I can send pics if you are interested. Thanks.

Take a look at that butt plate. If the & is laying on its side (lazy &), then it's probably for a 39-2.

the metal follower would indicate that it is likely a 39 magazine. I have a 39 magazine in my 439, along with the 439 magazine.
