Pictures are sometimes deceiving. The gun looks to be in average condition, no box or papers. Around here the value would be $300-$350 depending upon a better look at the condition of the finish. The finish wears easily on the blue 59s.

The pic doesn't show the finish well. It's black all the way to muzzle but you answered my question. Thx I walked away. Sounds like a good move.

Is there anyone out there who is skilled in the refinishing of the 59 frame? Can you send it back to S&W?

Too high. You can find 59 series pistols for $350 or less.

I bought one about six months ago with the box for $300. I sold it to a new adult shooter as a beginners gun a few weeks later for $325.

The only reason I bought it in the first place was to let those I take shooting have something that is easy to shoot without the recoil of a larger caliber.

I will buy another when I find one but it will be for less than $300. They are good guns for many uses.
