I found a 3906 for $325 it shows some signs of wear, but I dont think anything that would be of issue. So my questions;

Go for it or not
Any known problems
Anything area of the pistol I should really look at

I've owned a couple of 3906's and paid quite a bit more for each one of them. Never had an issue, they both ate up anything I fed 'em. All stainless and built like a tank. Unlike the 5906, the 3906 was only made for a short time, so they are fairly scarce.

I say grab it and GO! You can always get it bead blasted which will return it to a like new condition and you can replace the grips as well! Post photos if you are able to pick it up! I'd love to have one some day too...

At one time, I had the 639. Not quite the same, being a 2ndGen pistol, but a close approximation. It always felt great in the hand- single stack being my preference. Mine, too, fed and reliably fired any sort of junk/reload/range/NATO ammo I saw fit to feed it.
I miss the old thing sometimes, but the bills needed paid at the time.

ETA- at the price you quoted, I would counsel snatching it up forthwith!

Snagged mine ANIB in NY about a year and a half ago. Had to pay 500 for it, but still convinced it was the right thing to do (actually my wife got it for me as a BD gift)...
The appearance or finish may show a patina on the one you're looking at, but WEAR. Doubtful. I don't think you could wear one of these out in a lifetime. If I could find a decent 4006, I'd snag one of those, too. It's probably heavy enough to be half-way comfortable to shoot.

OK so I did it, traded a Taurus Model 85 a box of WWB hollow points and $171 out the door. When I figure out how to post a picture it will be up. Iam soooooooo happy

Sounds like you made out. You picked up a 3rd GEN and dumped a Taurass, that's a win-win.

Thanks for the recall link, it looks like the recal was done there is a dimple on the base of the grip next to the smaller opening. I will contact CS to verify.
I was very pleased with the range day I had, this pistol was very accurate, and felt good in my hand, a friend had one FTF (I am certain it was him).
Now for the down side, there is a very good chance I might become an all metal junkie, I really liked the feel
