Default 3rd Generation .45's

What should you have to pay for a good "shooter" 4506, 4666 etc. ?

Locally a shooter grade 4566 - no box or docs - brings around $475.

4506 - same condition - around $525.

4506-1 - same - $550 to $600. Regards 18DAI

A few weeks back there was a NIB 645 for $575 at a LGS. I prefer 4506's over 645's so I didn't take it.

I just paid $541 (shipping included) for a nice 4566.
Two recently sold on GB for $620 and $525.

I never see 3rd Gen .45's locally anymore. In fact I bet it's been 18-24 months since I have seen any S&W 3rd Gen locally. I regularly peruse some large and small online gun dealers and it seems like $475-$500 would be the average I see fair to good condition 4500 series guns selling for. More (to a lot more) if they are in better condition. But in all reality anything under $550 is a good price for a shooter grade Smith 45.

Only saw one at the local gun show yesterday; a 4566 in used very good plus condition with no box and one mag. The seller was asking $575, but I didn't inquire as to his bottom line price.

I got a nice one 4566 for 350.00 on Gunbroker because the guy had taken lousy pics and the description was horrible so I called him and he told me all about it even had the box and spare mag with it not listed and I just won a 4516 lnib for 450.00 so if you are persistant deals can be found.link below
