My new 1006.
Hey guys,
I picked this little guy up while on vacation with the family in Florida last week. We went diving down off of Key Largo, and stopped at this neat little shop called Kiffney's. It was a 3rd Gen paradise: this 1006, a 4506-1, a 4006 with adjustable sights, a 1066 with a bobbed hammer and one 2nd gen, a 645.They wanted $660 initially for this beauty, but I got away with it for $625 and had it shipped up to my local FFL. Only one mag and no box, but it is in pristine condition.
How did I do?

You left the 1066 behind? What condition was it in and what price did they have on it? I may give them a call.

"Little guy?" I'm curious what you think a big guy is. I have drooled over these for a while, just can't seem to find the right deal at the right time. It will happen, just don't know when. Enjoy your Big Ten.

It had hogue grips and a bobbed hammer, two things I'm not particularly fond of. I did look at it though and it seemed to be in pretty good shape, I can't remember the price unfortunately. I can PM you their info if you would like, they're very friendly/helpful on the phone and will make a deal.

I may have misspoken a little, it's almost as big as my dad's MKVII Desert Eagle .
To be honest, I wasn't giving the 1006 much consideration before I saw this one at that shop.

That is both an excellent gun and, I think, an equally good investment. Assuming there are no great changes to the laws, you should, at the very least, be able to recoup your total expenditure. My friend recently bought one and is literally champing at the bit to try different loads in it.

Lawman90, congrats, very fine S&W's! That 1006 is in great shape!
Be sure to feed that bad boy some real ammo like that from Underwood Ammo or some quality handloads!
Best regards!

Once my spare mag arrives along with the new recoil spring (I always put a new one in a used gun) I will definitely be trying out some of the "good stuff"! I've fallen in love with this thing and I haven't even shot it yet! The idea of 1300+ FPS with 180gr and heavier excites me like a kid at Christmas.
Thanks for all the kind words guys!

Nice "little guy." I'd love to pick one up some day to go with my 4506.
Was in the Keys myself a couple years ago with the fam, had a great time.

$575. An astronomical price since they did not have the original box.

Well I figured it was either the GLOCK one or the Stag Arms one to keep up with the firearms motif! I will apologize for the cell phone pics though, I was anxious to get some pictures and my actual camera needed some recharging. I got some better ones now, along side the 4506-1 I just picked up yesterday!

That's less than they go for on Gunbroker for that condition. Wish I would have moved faster. Enjoy it. I'll keep looking.

I have a 1006 as well. Does any one the actual value of one in great condition. I am the original owner and bought the gun about 20 years ago. I was asking becaus e I am thinking about trading it for a Sig 226 or 229. Should I trade or keep it? I also have a 6906 and M&P 40 (Love both of those; however, was thinking I'd try a Sig.) Any recommendations?

I would keep it personally. You can always earn the money back/regain it somehow, but trading away a gun is forever unless it's with a close friend. They sure aren't getting any easier to find, and I feel pretty lucky having found this one in such good shape.

Nice pistol, and nice set. Is that a 645 keeping it company in the photos?

No sir, that's a 4506 no dash. Part of what got me addicted on these 3rd gens.

I believe BLUEBELLYYANKEE called them and picked that one up, so they might still have the 645 and 4506-1.
