Default S&W 3914 Sights

Hi All!

I am new to the site, and was hoping to get some insight from some 3rd gen guru's. I recently picked up a 3914 for my cww, and got a crazy deal on some trijicons... such a crazy deal that I didn't do any real research besides seeing if they were in fact listed for the 3914 which they were.

Fast forward to me actually doing some research -

My 3914 has the set screw in the rear sights, while the sights I ordered do not. Are they in any way interchangeable? I am assuming no, but for $40, ill just find a local shooter who needs some $40 sights.

Oh well, impulse buys...

Thanks guys!

The Trijicons do not come with a set screw. It is not really necessary - the sights are not going anywhere - they go in pretty tight.

Many years ago, I had Trijicon sites installed on my 3913 by an outfit recommended by the sight maker; think it was called ToolTech.

I sent in the slide only. They drifted the original sights (w/set screw) out
and replaced them with the nite sights. I've read that the sights on the 3913/3914 can require a little more force than normal to replace.

I had Tooltech install night sights on my Shorty 45 several months ago and they did a great job.

Thanks guys! So does that mean I'm in the clear? Are the sights the same on all 3914's?

Got them in yesterday. Before I send my slide off to have them put in, does anybody know the answer? Are the Novak style interchangeable with the others or is the slide different?

Should be completely interchangeable. Did the Trijicons come in the factory packaging? If so, it should list the part number, and you can check against the Trijicon website to make sure they are compatible.

Trjicon Bright & Tough™ Night Sights

Scroll down to the 3914 - either the SA08 or the SA24 will fit your slide just fine.

Again, don't get hung up on the Novaks having a set screw and the Trijicons not having one - the set screw will not make a difference with the Trijicons.
