Hi,

I recently bought a M52 and want to know it's birthday. Serial number is A4838XX.

Falls into the 1978 range...

Based on that serial number it would be a Model 52-2. Here are the books referenced above. The 3rd Edition is the current version and is on the right.

Thank you for those informations. I tried a 52 3 weeks ago and was very impressed. Most, it's a very special gun because of the caliber (for a pistol), the historical part and - sure - the shooting sensations. So I bought the only one to sell in France at this time and want to know a little more about it's history. Thank you again - Patrice
