Just picked up my new to me 6906 from cdnn paid 392.00 for special selection with the box +15.00 transfer from Mr Pawn in Lilburn Ga so I spent 407.00 total I was excited as I had seen a couple of really nice ones posted by forum members that looked like new.Well mine, finish wise is probably a strong xclt with honest holster wear my main problem is the really hancky trigger it litterally flops around in both da and sa with sa being really bad.Its not a huge deal because I will send back to Smith and they will make the trigger right as they did with my 4566.I just wanted you to know that the really nice ones are apparently gone or my salesperson did a lousy job of selecting for me.So i took a chance and it didnt exactly work out the way I would have wanted but at least I have my 6906 and am excited about that.

I got one from them about a year ago and I was very impressed with the condition, but that was about the filthiest gun I've ever seen. Field stripping and running about half a can of bore blaster through it made a huge difference. Figured if they never cleaned it, they probably didn't replace any springs, either, so I replaced the recoil and mag springs.

Without all the grit in the guts it feels better than new. Hope your's cleans up as well.

I hear ya man. Like you said, you have a 6906, and they are very cool. What matters to me more than the exteriors is the interiors. Scratches and holster marks can disappear with a free weekday and some elbow grease, but internals like rails and down lugs only get worse. How does the inside look?

Well the rails look good and the funny thing is it doesnt look like it has been shot much but the dang trigger is still moving a good bit it may not be as bad as first examined but it still moves at least an 1/8 to 3/16 of an inch.I wonder if it was just dry fired a BUNCH.I havent had time to take it apart as Im still at work but maybe its just the drawbar plunger spring,Ill look at it tonite when I clean it and maybe it wont have to go back to S&W.Needless to say I am still excited more so than just a couple hours ago.Oh and cdnn is out of the cheap leo mags for this pistol the rep said they had been harder to get than hens teeth.Ill post in the morning what I find .

I've bought a couple of guns from CDNN. One time, I was buying a Ruger Model No.1, so I asked the sales guy if he could pick one out with nice wood. He told me that they were not allowed to pick through the guns. If that's true, the last gun that they sell could be the nicest one.

Well that could very well be true as the old saying goes if I didnt have bad luck Id have no luck at all.

There is a little brass part that I think it riveted it's located at the upper part of the trigger. You need to field strip this gun to see it.it breaks real easy. lots of people find out about this by cleaning with a rag running it up and down inside the mag well. It's brass and it looks like a small v if it's not completely broken.. I'm sure others here can point you to some photos of it.. i know it does mess up your trigger a lot depending on how bad it's broke. some just get bent and you can carefully bend them back to shape. I'll bet it's this part. have a look see.. Good luck. When you get it right you will just love this fine gun! George

Trigger play spring, probably the only real weak point of the S&W semi series. They weaken/break and are best replaced. I keep realigning the one in my 4566 and after about ten shots it starts that annoying clicking again.
