Default VERSACARRY Holster for Bodyguard .380

I searched & didn't find anything on this forum so I figured I would post about it.

It was only $25 so I figured I'd try it out. First impression was good. It's made up of some type of very strong plastic. Weather you by it for a 380, 9mm, or .45, they're all made to be a IWB holster. The gun is held by a piece of plastic that is inserted into the barrel. It fits very secure, and the clip that holds it to your pants/belt is EXTREMELY strong. So if you have to draw, it will definitely stay in place.

Its VERY comfortable to wear. They clam that it has 75% less bulk then your average holster, and I have to agree with them.

If I had to rate it 1-10, I would have to give it a 9.5, only because nothing is perfect, lol.

I've had one for my Bodyguard for six months or so and it works well.

I use a versa carry with my 9 mm M&P Shield and it works great. Can't believe how comfortable the holster is. I am planning on getting one for my 40 M&P Shield as well.

Like mine too but found that the Ruger Sr9c magazine release is easily pushed when I sit down. I went into a restaurant and ate, thinking I was armed, and when I returned to my car the magazine was sitting in the drivers seat. I haven't had any issues with my Ruger LC9.

Default Versa Carry

I bought a Versa Carry and while they are not bad I decided it was not for me. Give me a good leather holster or a Kydex/leather holster.

I have one for my HK P7 and am quite pleased with it.

It is really astonishing how much less bulk is involved with the Versacarry than with even the thinnest traditional holster. But there are downsides to the Versacarry.

You WILL quickly find out where your gun has sharp corners because there is nothing between you and the gun.

There is minimal ability to adjust for cant; you can only tilt the gun to the extent that your belt is not as wide as the loop in the Versacarry.

There is no protection for the trigger on the side of the gun touching your body. I would not be comfortable carrying a gun with a light DA trigger (Glock, M&P, etc.) and no manual safety in a Versacarry.

I think I am going to order one for my M&P 9c. I just can't have any extra bulk with my size. But I have noticed (when I am in the house) that if I just waistband carry that I can conceal fairly easily. So, I think this is the next best thing.

You might also want to consider one of the "trigger guard" holsters if you can find one for an M&P. My son has one for a Glock and it matches the Versacarry for lack of bulk, while offering a different method of attachment to secure the gun.
