Default Got a 39-2 yesterday

I was in my LGS yesterday and bought a 39-2, I had been in there earlier in the week and seen it. Went back yesterday with a shotgun for a partial trade. He wanted to give me a little less than I wanted for the shotgun so I said no, then he told me the name of a guy that was really interested in it and was suppose to come in that day to get it. I said so and so really wants this, he said yes, he keeps calling me everyday to see if it is still here. I said I'll buy it, I don't like so and so anyway. I told him I will buy it on one condition, when he calls tell him you sold it for less than you wanted for it, just to piss him off. If this sounds mean it's not, if you knew the guy you guys would do the same thing. The gun came with 2 mags and pacs for grips. Come to find out a friend of mine is the previous owner, and I called him and he said he is pretty sure he has another mag, original grips, and maybe the box and papers. he is going to look for them. The price of the gun $375.00, screwing the other guy out of the gun PRICELESS!

Too bad your friend didn't call you first, keeping the LGS out of the middle! Be real nice if you get the original grips, box, etc. Post up some pictures when all is in hand!

I will try to post some pics, have to wait until I run into my friend with original grips, the pacs are great to shoot with but they do make the gun look ugly. You all no the guy, just probably by a different name, you know the guy, that no matter how much you try to like him he is just irritating as hell. and the gun shoots great!

....dang, I do love me dem 39's! 39-2's are very cool. Great look, features, feel and are fine shooters.
The box, papers and grips will no doubt help your value but if the gun is in VGC, $375 "as is" was a very fair price.

Yeah, it's ok to be a dink every once in a while! Sadly, sounds like this guy won't take the hint!

YES. One of the guns I regret most was a 39-2. I bought it new. Its single action pull was almost as good as my Model 41 and the DA pull was better than my Model 36. It began to lose accuracy after 1500 rounds, some of them pretty hot. I contacted a gunsmith (there were a lot then who knew how to work on the Model 39). He told me he could tighten it up, but after another 1500 rounds it would be loose again. I sold it. I should have sent it to him and every 1500 rounds returned it to be tightened up; its other characteristics were worth it.

Congatulations on the 39_2! I have a 39_2 in the box with papers that my Brother in-law willed to me. I carry this gun everyday and is one of the best shooters I have used. A bianchi professional 100 size 12 fits perfecticaly. Remember that this is a DA/SA gun and the trigger pull is a lot lighter after that first shot.

I had a M9-2 until the new 2.5" M19 came out, and I traded. Loved the M19, but really missed the M39. I saw a M39-2 in perfect, barely fired condition with three mags, and a like new S&W holster. I paid $275 for it. I have since bought two good mags for about $30 each plus an Andy Arratonian (Horseshoe Leather) IWB holster on eBay for $40. It is really great to have another M39; this one is not getting away.
