Default Gun show today, should hae bought that 1911

Dang... I was not in the market for one but when I saw it, I fell in love... it was a pristine condition S&W 1911 9mm stainless with holster asking $850 or so... Now that I am home... I wish I could go back and pick it up... I had to ask if it were new it was so nice... **** **** ****...

Other than that little beauty, the show was fun, 900 tables and lots of over rated prices but some nice stuff anyway, never saw so many M1's at one show... what's with that? I think next show I will bring my old OEM and new (laminated oak) M1 stocks and see if I can unload them...

Some of my best buys occurred when I was not looking for them like the time I stumbled across a 1972 era NIB Browning semi-auto .22 at a "make me an offer" price. Never thought he'd take what I offered.

A full size 1911 9mm shouldn't have much more kick than light weight .22. That would be a blast to empty quickly.

I was at the same show (WAC). I went home with two smiths (5906 Super 9 & 6906) and a Hakim.

I saw a 4506 at my LGS on a Saturday afternoon about a month back. Unfired. I told him I'd think about it. That night I knew I should've bought it so I called the store and left a voice mail.

They didn't open again until Wednesday of the following week so I called them Monday and Tuesday and left a VM each day. On Wednesday at noon (when they open) I was on the phone. One of the guys who works there (not the owner) answered the phone and I told him what was up. He started laughing and said a guy bought that gun right after I left. He thought this information was hilarious for some reason. He kept chuckling while he talked to me. Ho-ho-ho.

What a douche. Or should I say typical. Typical LGS.

But anyway, I was dumb for letting that one get away. So I went and bought a VEPR 7.62x39 from Centerfire instead. I'll come across another cherry 4506 one day sooner or later but I don't think I'll be seeing any of these VEPRs for $499.00 again.

I was at the WAC show bright and early Saturday morning, and spent maybe 4 hours cruising the rows. I don't how I missed that Super 9.

I saw one there maybe a year ago that I didn't buy, but went home and looked it up in SCSW and then kicked myself a bit. If I remember correctly, I saw it on Sunday so no chance to go back and try to find it.

Nice catch!

It was in the middle of the last row (before heading down to the auxiliary rooms), I spotted it a little after 8:00 (Sat), but had to wait for the seller to return to the table. I had the deal squared away before 9:00.

The time to buy a gun is when you see it.
