I have been a long-time lurker on this site and I have always enjoyed the depth of knowledge and insight provided here. I hoped that my first post would be something in which I could provide my own insight or experience. Instead, I am seeking advice.
I currently own several 3rd Gen S&W pistols and I love them. I also own a 642 centennial j-frame. I had posted my j-frame for trade hoping to get a .45acp 3rd Gen. Instead, I was offered a trade, my j-frame with wood grip, boot grip and iwb holster for a 422, 4.5" barrel, 2 magazines and a nylon holster. The 422 seems to be in good shape but I am torn as to whether to make the trade. The j-frame seems to be a more valuable firearm but I would love to add a 422 to my collection. Am I being foolish for assuming that it may be a long time until I see another 422 available? Is it a fair trade? Or should I hold out for a 3rd Gen centerfire pistol?
Full disclosure: To the best of my knowledge, the person offering a trade is not a member of this forum so you will not be selling out one of your own.
