Default Bodyguard 380 aftermarket replacement firing pin

Bodyguard 380 Performance | Galloway Precision

According to the website, these aftermarket improved firing pins made of tool steel and heat treated should be available in August 2013. So any one have any more info on this?

Got a post from Eric this morning on the BG380 forum. The prototypes are in for the pin and trigger bar. He's testing them out and they will be in production very soon.

Very cool. That's been the main issue keeping me away from the BG380.

The chances of a stock FP breaking is extremely low and wouldn't let it stop me from buying. Of all the accounts posted on the internet, believe me I've searched, there may be 10-12. Most of those are associates with lots of dry firing. Perhaps there are 10x this many not posted, still not too many out of tens of thousands sold.

Good point. But it does seem to be a recurring issue and I've read about it being more prominent with those who dry fire as well.

I purchased one of these Firing pins and it was too large. Tried getting a response from Galloway and was told to return it, they refunded the cost of the firing pin but between the purchase and return, got hit with over $10.00 in shipping fee's. This is the 3rd problem I'e had with Galloway.

1. The first time they didn't ship all the parts I ordered and had to fight to get the parts. I had to convince them to weigh the products as shipped and compare the shipping weight. They never responded but did send me the part.

2. Problem was I received a shipped email the day before leaving for Arruba when I arrived home it still was not here. I called and they shipped me another but charged me for the product. Fortunately a few days later the original shipment arrived but if I hadn't received the 1st shipment would they have kept my money? Bad business practice.

3. Problem was with the firing pin for the Bodyguard not fitting and getting charged for the shipping costs when it clearly was their fault.

My personal opinion i'd stay way from Galloway, they aren't very reliable or ethical.

I installed the Galloway FP and then after re-assembly I realized that pin was not protruding completely. It was sticking and the best I could tell by measuring it was that it was about 3 to 4 thousandths too large just below the tip compared to the OEM pin. Galloway thought that the channel in my slide might have been on the small size and that the OEM pin may have been sized to fit the slide. But after reading another post it sounds like their pin isnt sized correctly.
