Default Swapping a longer barrel 6906?

Newbie with a dumb question.

Does anyone know why the 69 series barrels has a taper/cut at the end part (muzzle)?
Is there an after market barrel designed for the 69 series but are are longer (4-5")?

The cut at the end of the barrel allows it to cam down to unlock as the firing sequence begins, and the slide begins moving rearward. I'm not aware of any aftermarket longer barrels for the 69 series guns.

Thanks Armorer951. Yeah I didn't think anyone made one. And it probably cost more than the average barrels because of that cut(?).

Most of the third generation guns have that same barrel design. One setup I always liked was the 5906 4" complete upper on the 6900 frame. It gave your the longer sight radius as well.
