No clue what they're worth, but in my opinion they are everything the original Walther PPK was not. Mine was recalled and they did whatever it was. Fine by me.
I was issued one in the '80s. Hated it. Until I learned to hold it low in a death grip it cut railroad tracks on the web of my hand. Yeah, I know, get a proper grip. Bu if you have to reach for it from cover in a rush you'll grab it as best you can. The S&W ones have that beavertail. Works fine for me. I carried an original in tropical climes under my shirt with only a t-shirt between it and me for a week with no opportunity to clean/oil it and the safety rusted and was frozen "on." Had to beat it apart while loaded. The stainless model won't do that.
Again, not sure of prices, but they seemed to be going for less than new. If I was still a wage-slave I'd buy another.
In my experience the jamming is ammo specific, so long as the gun is in good repair with a sound recoil spring. In the '80s we were pretty limited to round-nose ammo. I'd heard of problems with hollow-point, but I'd bet modern PD ammo would do better.
I briefly had a .32ACP PPK in the early '70s. Don't recall any jamming problems, but it cut my hand when drawn in a hurry and was not very accurate beyond about 25 feet. Would barely hold "minute of head." Coulda bin a bad barrel.
Don't worry about the recall. Free shipping both ways, took minimal time.
