I bought a 22A a few months ago for plinking. It's been working ok as long as I shoot CCI mini mags. Yesterday I tried a brick of bulk stuff from Bass Pro. After a few dozen rounds I had several failure to fire/feed. I would drop the magazine, eject the squib and start over until after several of these, I dropped the magazine and the plastic retainer at the bottom broke off and the spring went flying. Ok, figured defective magazine. Tried another mag and after a few rounds, same experience. I took the pistol apart and other than being much dirtier than when using the mini mags, everything looked ok. Any thoughts on what caused these two magazines to self destruct ? R.

To me your 1st issue would be ammo related ,2nd issue is the term drop , not understanding what you mean? If you allowed the magazine to actually drop out of the pistol on to a hard surface one would expect damage to happen, please give more info on the term Drop.

I usually use nothing but MiniMags but took my daughter out to shoot my 22A-1 on Sunday. I gave her three partial boxes of oddball shells to shoot away and toward the end of the shells, the gun started failing to extract empties. It was dirty when we started and filthy when we finished, so I'm blaming that for the problem but I haven't had time to clean it and shoot it again to be sure.

"Drop" simply means extract. The magazine "struck" only my hand.

Good find, 625! My fairly new 22A-1 Talo came with three magazines - I just checked them and all have the depression between the holes.
