No, those things are pretty much junk with the frame mounted decockers. Although, I'd be willing to help you out with your project, being that you are a fellow Forum member and all... I'll give you $50 cash for it!

All joking aside, put it in the Gun For Sale section on this forum and I'm sure someone will pick it up. It would be a great addition to any 3rd generation collection! Heck, I'd buy it if I had the money. :-(

I just bought a mint 4026 last week. $395 cash and it came with a 100 round box of Winchester ammo. I swore I'd never get any .40 cal ( except 10mm) but Last summer I got in a trade, a new 40 sigma. Really like the 4026 a lot . The Sigma will get better after some Apex trigger work.

They very rarely come up for sale on gunbroker and they are usually the KC police marked one's and I purchased the 3rd one I have seen in the last 5 years about 3 months ago. It shoots well like all 3rd gen guns and I just got a grip for it that I back ordered from S&W right after I got it.

My 4026 is perhaps one of my top 2 or 3 favorite 3rd gens. I got a really nice example a couple of years ago at a local gun show, no PD markings and all the "stuff" with it.

I was a bit leery about getting into .40 S&W, but this pistol is so easy-shooting I had to re-think why I had been avoiding the .40s . I have since added a CS40 that's also a great little pistol, but just a bit more sharp to shoot all day.

I'm a big fan of the frame-mounted de-cockers, I'm always on the lookout for a good deal on some of the others - 5926, 4536 - maybe not the 1076.

Be sure to buy a replacement sideplate for the 4026, a unique part to this model.
