New to me 4596 (Added range results 6/22)
Picked this up off of GB several weeks ago. Been looking a long time for one. I have read that there were only 382 of these made in 1990. This one was shipped on April, 27 1990. Added range results see post #14.

Love the symmetry of the short slide versions. A beauty indeed! Congratulations on a fine score.

Damn nice. Been looking at a really nice 4516-1 locally but can't quite justify the high asking price right now. Hoping it comes down someday to where I can afford it.

Based on my limited research, your 4596 has the lowest serial number of the series (TFA3675); the highest I've seen is TFA4115.
That puts the total number produced at 441, if they were made sequentially.

Odd. I would have thought a squared trigger guard would have had all silver/forged parts.
How much did that set you back if you don't mind me asking?

FWIW
I have one that I would be interested in parting with. Higher serial number than what is posted here. ROUND trigger guard.
Slide release and safety are stainless, (not blacked out) and flattened. This is the way it came from Lew Horton. I am posting in the For Sale section.
