S&W 1911 E-Series Night Sights

I'm trying to get night sights for this E-series 1911:

Product: Model SW1911<br>E-Series?, .45 ACP

Has anyone replaced the sights on any full sized E-series? I contacted S&W and they don't have any night sights, but said it was "considered" a Novak cut. Everywhere I've read said it's actually proprietary.

I have an E series with Tritium night sights from the factory, so some manufacturer makes them. I am looking at replacing them with the TFO's, Tritium & Fiber optic, and am finding that the Novak cut is "special"on the Smith's. Dang. A 1911 is supposed to be generic like an AR is.

It's about the same as a M&P sight in appearance. Possibly the same dovetail?

What did you end up doing? I am looking at buying the e-series 1911, and really want truglo sights.

The E-Series 1911Sc comes with Trijicon night sights.

thanks, Ed. I am aware of that. I was interested in whether he went with the truglo sights... Now that I've read his post again, it looks like he was discourage about not being able to put the truglo sights on because of the "special" novak cut that s&w does. It looks like I am going to end up buying the e-series SS version and then having a gunsmith cut the truglo sites to fit.
