Model 639 with Target Sights - Question??
Came across a Model 639 today and it has what appears to be a factory adjustable rear sight.
This will be the first 639 added to my collection and I want to be sure the sights are indeed factory??

Those are the standard factory adjustable sights. They're well protected by the "ears" and very practical but not every one likes their appearance. Over all the 639's condition looks great.

Thanks, I assumed the sights were correct, but I did not have the S&W Catalog handy to confirm. I mostly deal with HE's and have only a handful of S&W Autos in the stable, this one will go nicely with my 39-2 and M59 grouping.

Indeed they are, though I may get a fixed sight slide "someday".

Definately the factory sights, and also it's an early model with the round trigger guard and lanyard loop, very nice, and definately the more sought after version for 639 lovers.....

I was lucky enough to pick one up a few weeks ago adjustable sights and round trigger guard.

These are nice. I picked up a fixed site 639 a couple of months ago.
They do clean up nicely and yours is a beauty. Here is mine.

I paid $495 for mine, can I ask what you paid?

Thats a very nice 639 there. You got a good deal too. Enjoy your new addition and feed it lots of ammo.

Thanks, not sure if I will do much shooting with it, but I will at least take it out to the range to function test it.
Won't be picking it up until around Jan. 8th, it's on hold the typical 30-Day police hold at the gun shop.
Cheers,
Tom
