Default Model 669/6906 Hybrid?

So, I traded my Shield in .40 for a 669 because I wanted to move to 9mm. This is the 669 that I picked up. I noticed that it has the one piece grips of the 6906 and also the trigger guard shape is that of the 6906 rather than the 669. I'm assuming it was one of the very last production of the 669 where they started putting in the improvements coming on the 6906. After searching far and wide, I have not been able to find any info on this and have only seen pictures of 1 other 669 like this out there and that was for sale at a pawn shop with no info. Anyone know anything? The 669 was only made for a couple years anyway, so I assume this is a fairly rare bird. Any info would be greatly appreciated!

It has a factory replaced frame....all 669 models had square trigger guards, even the very last produced, as well as the early 6906 model interim pistols stamped as 669...

That's what I was thinking, but it is stamped Model 669. I suppose if they replaced the frame, they could stamp 669 on it though. I guess it actually is a 669/6906 hybrid then. Thanks!
