I picked up a satin nickle 469 today. It is in decent shape and came with two mags, no box. I am trying to find out a value for it. I will try to get some pictures posted later today.

I believe that was the special run of pistols made for Ashland Shooting Supply, should have a yellow front sight insert.

Chief's right, and the SCSW also lists some special-production 469's for RSR but I can't tell from the description whether they were nickel guns or not. They're listed in two runs, with RSR prefixes, directly below the listing for the nickel model that must be the Ashland gun.

A couple of members here have picked up the Ashland guns in the last year or so, according to posts. And, a really nice LNIB example sold recently on GunBroker for the mid-$700's. The only other nickel one listed was asking $475 for the gun and two mags, but didn't sell I don't think.

Look forward to seeing your pictures.

Yep, the satin nickel versions were made for Ashland Shooting Supply, here's the box label...

Mine does have the yellow front sight and the serial number prefix is TAA.
Hey Vigil 617. I spent about 5 years in your neck of the woods in the military and working in LE in Hope Mills in the early 80's. I was just down there last September for a wedding. I have a soft spot in my heart for your area. Still working on posting a pic.

Yep, sounds like yours is one of the Ashland Shooting group, all right. The SCSW says the 469 was S&W's initial foray into the compact semi-auto production pistols, and took much of its design from the famous Devel pistols.

I'm not a fan of the square trigger guards, but from pics I've seen of these 469's, they're attractive pistols that shoot great too. How'd you come up with yours, SCriswell?

(BTW, I live just outside Hope Mills myself, now. If you were down this way as recently as last fall, you know the area has changed quite a bit since you were here in the 80's.) :)

Chief, that would be correct-- my daughter loved this one, before she moved to Calif.
